Job Summary The University of Michigan Hospital is seeking an Administrative Assistant to provide support to staff within Mott Children and Womens Pre/Post Anesthesia Care Unit. 80% of duties include: Develop, maintain, adjust schedules, payroll, reports, gross pays, and personnel paperwork for bargained and non-bargained for bi-weekly staff in accordance with labor contracts, University policies, and department policies. Post position openings, set up interviews, fill out disciplinary documentation, process changes to appointments, process termination requests, maintain blue folders, and ensure regulatory requirements are met. Advise management on trends or areas that need attention in terms of employee attendance and compliance. Maintain personnel records. Other duties as needed.

20% of the time is spent doing: Providing clerical support for a variety of managers and supervisors. This can include calendar management, setting up meetings, and preparing various reports to help effectively manage labor resources. Prepare tuition reimbursements, stipends, arrange travel reservations and reimbursements, and manage PCard accounts.

Required Qualifications* High school diploma required, at least a two year college degree preferred. Two to three years payroll/personnel experience preferred. Two to three years experience with OneStaff, Microsoft Windows and Excel preferred. Excellent customer service skills. Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills. Must be cheerful and energetic/ assertive and highly motivated with a positive and professional attitude. Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with the interdisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to work independently and cooperatively, prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner. Considerable experience in performing responsible office duties or an equivalent. Candidate must be highly motivated to provide excellent customer service and be detail orientated. Accuracy is essential. Exhibit exemplary customer relation skills in interacting with various management levels and department staff.

Desired Qualifications* Prefer 1-3 years experience in the hospital clinical setting. Ideal candidate will have an excellent attendance record. Demonstrated ability to problem solve. Reasonable knowledge of the University of Michigan Health System policies.

Work Schedule Hours: 40 hours Monday through Friday
