What You'll Be Doing:
- Responsibilities include supporting strategic initiatives that drive organizational change, enhance the client experience and align TIAA-CREF's products and services. This individual must be a self-starter.
- Support and prioritize multiple strategic projects and as well as create, maintain, and support the development of project management analysis materials
- Assist in the design and development of institutional business line strategic models for ad-hoc projects
- Develop metrics to evaluate performance of business unit and staff members.
- Work with the business to prioritize issues; perform root cause, trend, gap & cost/benefit analysis; typically involves use of data mining and query tools
- Provide comprehensive analysis and recommendations to help support business objectives.
- Translate complex topics into actionable presentations to key stakeholders.
- Design and prepare analytical reports and dashboards for business unit
- Develop and recommend alternative approaches to problems that balance technical and operational feasibility, such as new and/or improvements to controls, workflows, systems, processes, product and service offerings and/or training and documentation
- Act in a lead role for various cross departmental business related projects
- Act in an advisory capacity to less senior business analyst
What You Need to Bring to the Table:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Computer Information Systems, Finance or similar specialization
- Excellent critical thinking skills, ability to work independently, and have excellent oral/written communication skills.
- Professional discretion is required.
- Solid understanding of how to quantify and monitor risk within strategic initiatives to determine control effectiveness and efficiency.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills to include presentation capabilities necessary f or interaction with different levels of the company.
- Should have basic understanding of accounting, compliance and contact management systems.
- Requires expert knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Project and SharePoint.
- Ability to function well in a team environment, handle competing demands and responsibilities well
- Ability to Travel, as needed, to provide oversight and support to cross-functional teams
- Strong BA skills - leading meetings, taking notes, writing requirements
- Proficient in writing Use Cases/Stories, Business Requirements gather, reviewing Functional Requirement documents
- Ability to manage requirements that use both Agile and Waterfall methodologies
- Domain Knowledge
- Experience with IRC plans, compliance requirements, salary deferral agreements and contribution limits monitoring
- Ability to do User Acceptance Testing and work with QA on testing efforts
Bonus Points! Otherwise Known As Preferred Qualifications:
- Data mining and analysis and application development experience is a plus
- Basic understanding of pension annuities, mutual funds and/or financial planning is a plus
