About this job

This Administrative Assistant position reports to the Senior Counsel, assists a paralegal and outside legal consultants, and may cover for the Senior Vice President of Business and Legal Affairs for 1440 Entertainment, a production unit that produces non-theatrical movies and TV series for worldwide distribution in all media.

Job Duties

Word processing, editing, and proofing correspondence and legal agreements

Drafts simple production agreements, including Certificates of Engagement and talent agreements.

Revises and redlines legal documents to show internal revisions, as well as, comments from outside third parties

Manages check requests, documentation and invoice payments for writers and talent and interfaces with creative production executives to track steps and payments per contractual obligations.

Schedules, coordinates, and maintains appointments and meetings; manages Attorney's phone calls, including placing outgoing calls.

Handles extremely heavy filing duties during extremely busy production schedules.

Maintains accurate, up to date legal files and maintains attorney Chron binders.

Coordinating the transmigration of the department's shared drive.

Executes expense reports and handles supply requisitions.

Assists the department's paralegal and outside legal consultants with filing, redlining of agreements and related matters.

Additional duties as assigned by supervisors. Qualifications/Requirements Basic Qualifications:

Extensive prior experience as a Legal Assistant (preferably with a transactional law firm, studio or major production company).

Strong computer and writing skills (proficiency in Word, Excel, Workshare, Power Point, and Access).

Excellent communication skills as the candidate interfaces with our creative team, agents and outside attorneys.

A self-starter with exceptional organizational abilities, administrative skills and follow-up.

Ability to multi-task while maintaining calm under pressure. Needs to be able to decipher priorities as the candidate assists up to three attorneys and a paralegal.

Good judgment, discretion, and the ability to handle confidential matters.
