About this job

Provides a clean and safe kitchen area for our staff. Washes and cleans all plate ware, pots, pans and cooking equipment and keeps the dish room and equipment clean and organized.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

Customer Experience

* Loads, runs and unloads dish machine in a timely and efficient manner

* Ensures all kitchen utensils, containers, and dishes are washed and put back in proper storage area

* Maintains daily cleanliness and maintenance of dish machine

* Sweeps and mops kitchen floors

* Empties and takes out trash and cardboard when full

* Sweeps up trash around exterior of restaurant and garbage dumpster

* Cleans food preparation and production areas when needed

* Closes dishwasher station at end of night

Sales & Promotion

* Promotes all restaurant menus, products, and services

Financial & Budgetary

* Ensures usage of consumables follow amount prearranged by the department

Managerial & Supervisory

* Adheres to safety, security, and OSHA standards and requirements

* Adheres to restaurant rules and regulations

* Attends meetings as required

* Ensures cleanliness of the restaurant using all five senses:

* Sight to ensure restaurant is neat and orderly

* Sound to ensure music/sound levels are appropriate

* Touch to ensure floors, countertops, etc are clean and dry

* Taste to ensure the food & beverages in the restaurant are up-to-standards

* Smell to ensure the restaurant is fresh and odor free

Customer Service:

* Demonstrates positive attitude and actions through a display of courtesy, service, cooperation, hospitality, sensitivity, and professionalism to internal and external customers.

Safety:

* Complies with all company safety rules

* Uses all required safety devices and personal protection equipment

* Reports accidents and injuries to supervisor as soon as possible

* Participates in safety training and safety inspections

* Discusses methods of preventing hazards to safety committee

Education:

* High School diploma or GED preferred

Experience:

* Restaurant or dishwasher experience preferred

Licenses / Certifications / Registration:

* None Required

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics

* Ability to multi-task learn quickly

* Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control

* Ability to read, understand, follow directions and safety procedures

* Excellent customer service skills

* Ability to operate simple machinery

Language Ability

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Mathematical Skills

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
