As a Summer Camp Supervisor, you will be responsible for the overall direction, organization, and supervision of the Summer Camp program.
Supervises Summer Camp Counselors to ensure they are engaging campers in fun and challenging activities. Responsible for providing a friendly, safe, and welcoming environment for campers. Continually motivates Counselors to be creative and have fun with the campers.
Responsibilities
Member Experience:
Greets and welcomes parents and children in a warm and friendly manner
Ensures Counselors initiate, develop and maintain positive relationships with campers
Engages children in interactive activities including, organized arts & crafts, singing, sports activities, games, and field trips
Ensures Counselors are engaged and interacting with campers at all times
Resolves child conflicts in a swift and professional manner
Provides a safe, clean and organized camp area
Sales & Promotion:
Promote and sell summer camp programs within the club and the community
Promote and sell all Member Activities programs and services
Ensure team members continually increase their knowledge of Lifetime's products, services, policies and procedures
Respond to member inquiries regarding Life Time products, services, policies and procedures
Promote all Life Time programs, products and services
Financial & Budgetary:
Provide daily, weekly, and monthly summer camp participation totals to the Department Head
Maintain summer camp inventory and order supplies with the permission of the Department Head
Managerial & Supervisory:
Prepares daily activity schedules, and ensures Counselors implement the daily activities
Creates weekly staff schedule and ensure the Counselor to camper ratio meets state/federal guidelines
Organizes field trip schedule and confirm bus arrival times each week
Ensures safety of campers in the daily camp programs
Fills in as counselor when staff is sick or camp is under ratios, etc
Returns phone calls about camps
Assists with general camp duties throughout the day
Assesses individual performance, provide feedback and employee recognition programs/awards
Coaches and counsels Camp Counselors with the guidance of the Department Head
Recruits, interviews, and trains staff prior to and during the summer season
Makes hiring, promotion, disciplinary, and termination recommendations to the Department Head
Customer Service:
Demonstrates positive attitude and actions through a display of courtesy, service, cooperation, hospitality, sensitivity, and professionalism to internal and external customers
Safety:
Complies with all company safety rules
Uses all required safety devices and personal protection equipment
Reports accidents and injuries to supervisor as soon as possible
Participates in safety training and safety inspections
Suggests methods of preventing hazards to safety committee
College degree in Education or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
One-year summer camp counselor experience
Previous Summer Camp Supervisor experience preferred
Infant/Child and Adult CPR/AED certification
First Aid Certification
Life Guard Certification preferred
Applicant must complete all state or federal requirements prior to first day of directly working with children or within other specified timeframe. Requirements vary by state. A complete list of requirements is available from the hiring manager.
These requirements may include but are not limited to:
* Tuberculosis test
* All required vaccinations (or signed exemption)
* Fingerprints taken by a local police department for a background check
* Background checks required by state specific child care licensing laws that are in addition to Life Time background check
* Continuing education courses for continued employment in working with children
* Infant and Children First Aid and CPR Certifications
All requirements must be completed at the cost of the applicant, unless prohibited by law.
