Wells Fargo Capital Finance (WFCF) offers traditional asset-based financing, specialized senior secured financing, accounts receivable financing purchase order financing, and supply chain financing to a wide range of companies throughout the U.S.

The successful candidate for this position will have the opportunity to learn and gain an understanding of the Loan Administration functions in an asset based lending environment with borrowers in the retail industry.

The Credit Analyst (CA) will work on a team with Account Executives (AE s), Loan Administrator(s) (LA s) and a Loan Portfolio Manager (LPM). This person will develop a working understanding of inventory collateral and be closely involved in daily account management. This person will also maintain and analyze financial information provided by borrowers and work with internal business partners to share information and address issues.

Primary duties and responsibilities:

Assist Account Executives in preparation of Credit Modification Requests (CMR). Perform financial and credit analysis of borrower's financial statements, business plan and financial forecast. Perform all covenant and compliance testing for assigned accounts. Maintain Financial Statement Spread (FSS) system for assigned accounts. Shadow new business transactions once the Director of Portfolio Management assigns an A/E to a transaction (deals in Underwriting), but before they enter the portfolio. Regular communication on new transactions with business partners in Underwriting and Audit (including attending the scheduled Credit Committee) and providing real time feedback to AE and LPM on salient deal points and proposed structure of new transaction. Help coordinate the new business hand-off from Underwriting and Audit to the assigned AE in Portfolio (if necessary, accompany the designated AE and help execute the hand-off). Assist in account set-up with the Loan Accounting Department; Set-up credit and financial statement files for the AE. Periodically visit Bankruptcy Court and serve as a resource to the LPM and AE during a proceeding (This experience should serve as an introduction to bankruptcy and the CA should obtain a working knowledge of the process). Prepare responses to all audits and appraisals for review and approval of the Account Executives. Perform regular review and analysis of required reporting submitted by borrowers. Attend client meetings and work together with the AE, Loan Administrator and other internal business partners in Audit, Retail Analysis and Appraisal Departments to address significant trends or changes in key asset valuation and credit indicators or variables. Prepare call reports for all client meetings. Complete periodic projects assigned by LPM and support the AEs as directed. Perform other related duties and assignments as required. Actively participate in periodic group and department meetings.

2+ years commercial lending or credit analysis experience. 2 +years of financial analysis, audit, appraisal or credit analysis experience. Demonstrated working knowledge of middle market corporate finance. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate through written and verbal communication skills. Experience with Word and Excel. Basic understanding of financial statements. Asset Based Lending experience. Undergraduate Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or Economics.
