Independent Senior Living Community in Shelby Township is looking  to fill a Full-Time Lead Server position to assist in providing an exceptional dining experience to our residents. Previous serving experience required with additional training provided. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekdays and holidays. Shifts 10:30AM to 7:00PM -Sunday thorugh Thurdsay.  Ideal candidate will have a team mentality, caring heart and the desire to work with the senior population.

PURPOSE:

The Lead Server acts as a working team leader and oversees the dining staff to ensure the smooth operation of daily duties.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Create an atmosphere of customer respect in a clear, customer-focused vision, based upon the Spectrum Retirement mission and philosophy.
  • Ensure completion of all dining room opening and closing duties as established by the Director of Dining Services.
  • Follow systems and processes to ensure the department runs efficiently and effectively, provide staff education if necessary.
  • Treat residents and family members and other team members with dignity and respect while responding to their needs.
  • Maintain and sustain a safe community and workplace.
  • Accept other duties as assigned.

 

  • REQUIREMENTS/ EXPERIENCE:
  • Knowledge of sanitation and safe food handling standards.
  • Previous relevant experience preferred.
  • Ability to promptly solve minor operational problems.
  • Ability to speak respectfully with, understand, empathize with, work with and be tolerant of Residents, family, visitors, peers, managers, subordinates, and other outside contracts.
  • Strong customer service attitude/presentation.
  • Caring and compassionate toward others,
  • Reliable transportation essential.
