Warehouse Personnel
POSITION SUMMARY:
Prepare inventory and facility to accurately fill all customer orders, pull inventory, carefully package items as to maintain RS&I's reputation of timely, accurate, no hassle orders received in good repair.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Prepares orders accurately, obtain merchandise from warehouse shelves for shipping and on-site order pick-up, carefully verifying, identifying product and quantities in conjunction with company's inventory and shipping systems.
2. Prepare and package outbound orders and shipments with care as to arrive at the destination undamaged.
3. Assists Operations Manager/Supervisor in the receipt of inbound inventory and supplies against purchase orders, re-supply orders and bills of lading using proper check-in procedures, advises supervisor of deviations or damage.
4. Perform accurate inventory credibility and control by daily cycle counts and reconciliation's as directed by Operations Manager/Supervisor.
5. Load and unload trucks, moves materials on shipping dock with use of forklift and hand trucks.
6. Restock warehouse inventory so as to provide for inventory aging and overall retrieval efficiency.
7. In conjunction with Operations Manager/Supervisor, performs assigned building, facility, equipment, dock and yard maintenance projects.
8. Clean and maintain work area and warehouse daily.
9. Perform duties by using caution and good judgment in the use of automated equipment so as to protect yourself and those around you.
10. Arrive at work punctually.
11. Cooperate and assist in promoting and maintaining a cheerful, harmonious, and enjoyable working environment as well as maintaining rapport with suppliers regarding shipments and dealers in order to provide them the best possible service. The ability to communicate effectively with the dealers and staff.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
1. Supervised by Operations Manager in conjunction with Branch Manager and Corporate Operations Manager.
2. Performs semi-routine duties where some judgment is required when communicating with dealers, account executives, and inter-company personnel. Work is performed under defined and uniform procedures.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITES:
1. Performs other related appropriate duties assigned by the Branch Manager.
2. Participate in cross training projects to broaden capabilities and exposure.
RESPONSIBILITY AND AUTHORITY:
1. Equipment: Reasonable care and operation of standard office and warehouse equipment including but not limited to, company provided PC, calculator, duplicating machine, shipping PC, telephone, forklifts, hand trucks and company owned vehicles.
2. Money, check, and credit card transactions: Will from time to time be responsible for collecting accurate payment of delivered goods to customers insuring all funds are received and delivered to appropriate accounting personnel or Branch Manager for deposit. Failure to handle customers tactfully could result in cancellation and subsequent loss of good will and profit.
3. Business Contacts: Responsible for maintaining good customer relations. Generally deals with dealers and their staffs concerning matters that require tact, discretion, and resourcefulness. Contacts with other RS&I personnel including but not limited to, administration, accounting and warehouse departments.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
2. Basic computer skills.
3. Physical ability to lift up to 60 pounds over head.
4. Manual dexterity required for operating warehouse equipment, forklift and computer.
5. Valid state motor vehicle operators permit.
6. Valid state OSHA operator certification or the ability to obtain an OSHA forklifts operator certification.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Working conditions are normal for a warehouse distribution environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials and products up to 60 pounds over head. To operate equipment safely requires caution and good judgment to protect yourself and others. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
