As an IT professional you have expert knowledge in one or more programming languages or databases. Because of your excellent understanding of the entire project life cycle, you have the ability to direct project teams in the gathering, design, and development of complex applications/programs. You get to work closely with and learn from the brightest minds to ensure proper system design. Your role ensures highest quality implementations from design through quality insurance to production. You anticipate hardware and software design needs to take pre-emptive action. Our IT professionals support multiple team members and other project leads in day-to-day activities related to project work.

The Sr. Developer has proficient knowledge of multiple programming languages along with the ability to take business requirements and develop the total technical design for an entire application to be run in production. The Sr. Developer has the ability to lay out requirements for the project team. Ability to guide and direct work on multiple projects and ensure proper usage as part of the design efforts in building a system to be put into production. Thorough understanding of life cycle development through production implementation and post implementation. The Sr. Developer has the ability to present at the various architecture review boards. Display strategic view of applications and how they fit into the whole retail space.

The Sr. Developer will be involved in development of Merchandising Systems projects using an Agile methodology. They will help lead scrum sessions to gather requirements, design, and develop complex applications. They will be able to present ideas and solutions at peer reviews and development sessions. They will demonstrate that they are capable of ensuring the highest quality deployments from design through QA to production. They will need to technically mentor junior developers with the latest web technologies.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS -

  • Previous experience using an Agile development methodology.
  • Java development with focus on web development.
  • Understanding of standard web frameworks and languages (HTML, CSS, Javacript, AJAX, JQuery). AngularJS preferred.
  • Knowledge of standard web service development frameworks and methodologies (SOAP and RESTful).
  • Experience with standard SQL against DB2/UDB, Oracle, Informix, mySQL or SQLServer.
  • General proficiency in XML and JSON.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES -

Define, plan and implement solutions on assigned moderately complex projects.

Take business requirements and develop the total technical design on moderately complex projects and ensure proper usage as part of the design efforts in building a system to be put into production.

Conduct appropriate test reviews for assigned projects and present to architecture review boards as necessary.

Promote and follow the established processes, policies, standards and procedures to assure compliance with corporate and regulatory policies and standards.

Provide technical direction to associate developers, developers and contractors.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
-

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS -

Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must pass the Drug Test.
Must successfully complete any required training or orientation courses.


EDUCATION REQUIRED
-

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
