POSITION SUMMARY

Sunrun is experiencing tremendous business growth in its Retail channel and is seeking outstanding individuals to close customers who find Sunrun in retail.

The Retail Sales Representative is a new and exciting role, that demands a unique individual – someone who is entrepreneurial about creating new business opportunity, competitive about hitting individual quotas, and obsessive about delivering a superb customer selling experience.

Sunrun’s Retail Sales Representative will have a significant impact on Sunrun’s monthly sales performance, our relationships with national retailers, as well as our leading-edge in-store point-of-sale experience. The Retail Sales Representative will report directly to the Retail Market Manager.

Position benefits include no cap on commissions; paid sales and marketing training; as well as a full benefits package (including health, vision, and dental insurance), paid time off, holiday pay, and 401(k) savings plans.

Top performers in this role will be considered for various supervisory leadership roles within the Retail organization and can eventually manage a region of Sunrun’s retail business.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with Retail Solar Advisors to engage customers in retail locations, offering them Sunrun’s solar service solutions
  • Take customers through Sunrun’s sales process and offer them customized design and pricing solutions
  • Run appointments and close business using Sunrun’s proprietary technology platform, both in retail stores as well as in-home
  • Maintain relationship with existing book of customers and actively generate referrals from this base
  • Meet team and individual sales goals set each month
  • Master the delivery of Sunrun’s value proposition and competitive positioning
  • Provide leadership team with reports, analysis and recommendations to continuously improve the performance of our sales efforts
  • Be a flexible player in Sunrun’s new retail sales team, supporting pilot efforts and new strategies

REQUIREMENTS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS, AND OTHER SKILLS)

  • Four year college degree required, or currently enrolled in a college degree program
  • 3+ years prior experience in a quota-driven sales position highly preferred
  • Retail and/or consumer sales experience highly preferred, solar sales experience a plus
  • Obsessive about providing a great customer experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with email, Excel, Word and CRM tools (Salesforce)
  • Passionate about selling the Sunrun value proposition to customersValid driver’s license and/or ability to commute reliably to job sites (retail locations and customer homes)
