GENERAL SUMMARY: Manages and oversees the maintenance of equipment and facilities as assigned by the maintenance manager. Ensures equipment, grounds and building are cleaned. Oversees repairs and recommends purchases of equipment and new construction. Accrue that all safety guidelines are followed throughout out the building.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



1. Manages and oversees the repair and maintenance of equipment; assigns work orders, ensuring safety and production related work orders are highest priority. Assists maintenance associates with diagnosis and repairs when necessary.

2. Manages preventive maintenance programs and ensures schedule is adhered to in order to minimize downtime.

3. Manages the development, implementation and administration of operational policies, programs and systems within functional area. Establishes methods and procedures for departmental work activities; identifies and resolves operational problems; and communicates expertise and approval concerning departmental activities.

4. Hires, orients, trains, evaluates, recommends pay increases and develops associates whose work is considered professional, administrative or clerical. When necessary carries out disciplinary actions or recommends termination of employment.

5. Reviews, recommends and implements additions, modifications and improvements to facility systems.

6. Oversees and ensures buildings, grounds and equipment are cleaned and maintained in order to maintain machinery and physical plan. Manages and oversees facility’s waste disposal program; ensures waste is disposed of according to appropriate regulations.

7. Interacts with facility management to ensure maintenance needs are met. Touring facilities to ensure the condition of the facilities are maintains.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



1. High school diploma or equivalent required.

2. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred.

3. Five years of maintenance and supervisory experience.

4. Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and procedures including best safety practices.

5. Knowledge of and skilled in blue print reading.

6. Analytical ability necessary to gather and interpret data, and develop, recommend and implement solutions.

7. Strong management leadership, communication, organization and administrative skills.

Strong knowledge of and skill in personal computers and engineering-related programs.
