Within our Architectural Coatings business, we produce paints, stains, and specialty coatings under the PPG Pittsburgh® Paints, PPG Olympic® Paints and Stains, and PPG Porter® Paints brands, and service the North American coatings industry across three channels.

PPG has recently completed the acquisition of the AkzoNobel North American Architectural Coatings business. This acquisition provides our newly combined Trade organization a tremendous platform for profitable growth. This acquisition enables us to now operate in 900 retail stores, sell through over 5,000 dealer stores and supply product to large home improvement retailers, such as Lowe's and Home Depot. This acquisition also brings a portfolio of well established brands to PPG such as Glidden, Glidden Professional, Ralph Lauren Paint, Devoe Coatings and Martha Stewart Living paints; Flood, Sikkens and Synteko woodcare products; plus Liquid Nails adhesives and caulks.

PPG Architectural Coatings is looking to hire a Senior Accountant!

The role of this position is to perform accounting functions including the recording of journal entries, account analysis and quarterly trend reporting. Individual must be able to maintain effectiveness in different situations and environments.
  1. Responsible for ensuring timely submission of month end close process.
  2. Perform monthly reconciliation of high risk/key general ledger accounts.
  3. Detailed understanding of the link between the SAP chart of accounts of HFM prime reporting.
  4. Ensure the company's assets are adequately safeguarded through the development and implementation of effective internal controls within a prescribed SOX environment.
  5. Coordination of the exchange of files and information with Internal and External Auditors.
  6. Contribute to the attainment of the Blueprint objectives in safety, quality and productivity through active participation in each of these areas.


Qualifications

Job Requirements:
  • Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Expertise in Excel; SAP experience required!
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of Accounting experience
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and experience in application
  • External/Internal Audit experience preferred
  • Ability to identify and resolve reconciliation discrepancies, attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and provide alternatives to decision makers
  • MBA/CPA preferred
