3M is seeking Part-Time Production Operators for the Personal Safety Division located in Aberdeen, SD.
This site was chosen as a 2013 Industry Week Best Plant Winner. Read about us in the January 2014 issue of Industry Week. The Aberdeen plant serves 15 3M divisions such as Automotive, Construction Home and Improvement Markets, Personal Safety, and others. This site manufactures products such as specialty tapes, furnace filters, respirators, and other products. The Aberdeen plant will celebrate 40 years this year and has approximately 650 employees.
Job Summary :
The position of Part-Time Production Operator will be responsible for but not limited to the following specific duties:
- Operate automated production converting, assembly and packaging equipment
- Monitor process, order inputs, load semi-finished materials inspect materials, perform quality inspections to release product
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Demonstrate safe work behaviors to avoid injury to self or others
- Follow operating procedures and customer specifications to produce quality products which are delivered to customers on time
- Work effectively within a production work team and collaborate with other teams
- Contribute to continuous improvement and problem solving
- Maintain neat and orderly conditions in area and help maintain and promote safe conditions
- Operate assigned equipment in a safe, effective, and efficient manner
- Operate processes according to procedures
- Use hand and power tools
- Use computers as needed to run process operation
- Monitor other operations and works cooperatively with others
This position will require:
- Working part-time 20 to 24 hours per week
- Working on holidays as needed
This position may require:
- Working any shift that is available including, but not limited to, rotating, first, second and/or third shift
- Weekend work
Basic Qualifications:
- Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher
Preferred Qualifications:
- A minimum of one (1) year Manufacturing Experience

Relocation: Is not authorized
