Job Summary : The Maintenance Mechanic will be performing diverse duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment in a fast paced manufacturing environment
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Perform job in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company safety and quality policies exercising independent judgment while paying close attention to detail
- Communicate with all levels of staff
- Work independently or as a team
- Keep work area clean and orderly maintaining 5S standards
- Accurately report information manually, electronically and/or verbally by answering questions from production staff
- Possess and display a strong knowledge of and trouble shooting skills for the following: mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, AC and DC control circuits and devices, AC and DC motors and drives, solenoids, pumps, switches, motor starters, contactors, gas analyzers, hoists, material handling equipment, and other components of production, facility, and/or material handling equipment
- Possess and display a strong knowledge of trouble shooting skills for the following: Utilization of a PC and software to monitor PLC operations and correct equipment problems, monitor/replace AC and DC motor drives utilizing PC software, transmitters, transducers, controllers, calibration of control loops, indicators, HMI screens, guiding/steering units, temperature and volume controllers and other electronic control devices associated with production and facility equipment
- Perform preventive, corrective and emergency maintenance on production, lifting and facility equipment
- Locate sources of machinery problems by observing, listening, utilizing test and equipment, PLC software and conversing with operations personnel
- Keep work area clean and orderly maintaining 5S standards
- Accurately report information manually, electronically and/or verbally by answering questions to production staff
- Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, kneel, bend, walk, reach, climb, crouch, push and pull, grip, pick and pinch, climb ladders and elevated platforms, routinely lift 50 pounds or more, and work indoors or outdoors in all types of weather
This position will require:
- Working overtime
- Weekend work
- Working on holidays as needed
- Short notice call in
- Working rotating shifts
Basic Qualifications:
- Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates Degree in Mechanical Technology
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in manufacturing maintenance environment
- Ability to obtain a MA State PIV M.G.L. c. 146 53 Hoisting Operator license
- Ability to operate fork trucks, cranes, scissor lifts and other mobile equipment
- Ability to use measuring and test devices and the use of power and hand tools
- Proficient in reading plus interpreting drawings and schematics
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills
