Summary of the Position:

Manage all operational responsibilities of department including, but not limited to scheduling, payroll, Human Resources issues, productivity measures, quality assurance, staff supervision, training, troubleshooting, etc. while working collaboratively with Regional Director /Unit Director.

Responsibilities of the Position:

- Performs prescription accuracy check and approval on processed prescriptions; ensure the correct drug is with the correct patient, with the correct directions, in the correct dosage and package for each prescription.

- Total shift production may include up to 1,000 scripts on a heavy volume day

- Implement and maintain work flow and quality control methods, know all the functions within the Pharmacy, and promote continuous improvement

- Assist Technicians and Clerks with script questions

- Verify all work of the techs and clerks

- Contacts the physicians regarding questions or problems with scripts and verifies and documents information accuracy with the physician

- Assists in managing production efficiency thru use of labor scheduling

- Ensure the privacy and confidentiality of Personal Health Information (PHI) as required by HIPAA

- Maintains quality assurance and accuracy of product assembly

- Controls efficient operation of software and hardware systems that support production

- Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

- Manages inventory according to seasonal & budgetary requirements

- Assists in new partner training and Partner readiness/competency

- Troubleshoots encountered errors within production system

- Submits 3rd Party Sales and assists in correction of 3rd party rejections

- Verify "Return to Stock" is performed

- Assists in checking in Central Fill orders and filing invoices

- Perform drug utilization review

- Provide patient counseling on all new prescription orders

- Provide a caring environment for our patients

- Conducting biannual inventory or controlled substances

- Ensures that the department abides by Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP) and Federal (DEA) regulations

- Ensures that environment is clean and safe for both partners and patients

- Supports All Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and New Initiatives (Central Fill, Generic Optimization, RxEVO etc.)

- Participates in career planning of direct reports

- Acts as a Change Agent

Education & Experience Required:

- Bachelor's Degree (of Science or comparable experience)

Texas State Board of Pharmacy Certified

- Superior problem resolution and team building skills

- Must renew license every two years and must attend continuing education classes as required to maintain certification

- Demonstrated leadership ability

- Ability to work independently and unsupervised

- Ability to work with all levels of management

- Strong communication and organizational skills

- Precision oriented

- Understanding of computer hardware and software

- Proficient in Microsoft Office products

- Strong problem solving and analytical skills

- Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks in stressful situations

- Must be able to work rotating shifts to include weekends; must be flexible to the needs of the business

- REVO 501 & 502 training

- HIPAA trained

- Function in a fast-paced, retail, office environment

- Lift up to 20 lbs on a regular basis

- Stand and/or Sit up to 12 hrs
