Supervises the construction and maintenance of the golf courses, resort grounds, and the maintenance and repair of construction and maintenance equipment,

Assists with rendering professional advice, opinions, assistance and services to the facility's resort management.

Assists the snow removal and road plowing for the resort property.

Maintains golf course properties, including (but not limited to) the golf car fleet, clubhouse grounds and landscaping, tennis courts, recreational facilities, open spaces, wooded areas, unused acreage and areas outside the perimeter, sod farm and nursery, snow removal.

Construction, renovation and/or reconstruction of such properties, whether performed by maintenance staff or outside contractors.

Assists with preparing the annual budgets for the maintenance and capital improvement of course properties. Also assists with formulating the annual maintenance and capital budgets so as to implement policies established in accordance with the long-range plan and defined maintenance standards.

Interviews, trains and directs staff for the purpose of maintaining the properties.

Assists with planning all maintenance and project work, applying agronomic and administrative expertise to achieve the agreed-upon maintenance standards and long-range goals.

Oversees the scheduling and routing of employees and equipment to accomplish the work. Frequently inspects the golf course and related areas to evaluate how well management standards are being achieved and to effect changes in management programs.

Assists with acquiring equipment and purchasing necessary supplies to maintain the golf course and other properties.

Assists with keeping accurate and complete records on payroll, inventory, weather data, maintenance procedures, pesticide applications, hazardous waste disposal, etc.

Supervise technical work such as pesticide applications, fertilization, irrigation and equipment maintenance.

Assists with the oversight and management of the course irrigation system.

Able to communicate with other members of the top management group to discuss activities, golf, plans and other member/customer input.

Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Job Requirements

2-4 year college degree in a agronomic field of study preferred.?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /

Member of the Golf Course Superintendent Association of America (GCSAA), plus 3 years of golf course maintenance experience under the direct supervision of a GCSAA member.

Member of the New Hampshire Golf Course Superintendents Association.

Attend GCSAA NHGCSA educational seminars to remain updated and accredited with the GCSAA.

Knowledge of golf facility construction principles, practices and methods; and a thorough understanding of the rules and strategies of the golf game.

High degree of administrative and executive ability, especially in problem solving and decision making.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Knowledge of current federal, state and local laws and regulations affecting the management of golf course operations (including, but not limited to; employment, safety and environmental standards, laws and regulations).

Participation in continuing educational opportunities such as seminars, workshops, correspondence courses, and field days and trade shows.

Must possess a current Supervisory Level License as a pesticide applicator in New Hampshire.

Attend appropriate continuing education courses to maintain a New Hampshire Supervisory Level pesticide license.
