3M is seeking a Production Group Leader for the Aerospace Commercial Transport Division located in Indianapolis, IN. Ready to be part of what's next?

Job Summary :

Perform leader duties to direct the shift's activities for all fabrication operations. Performs a wide range of duties in prioritization, assignment, monitoring and training of assigned staff, while performing routine record keeping and manufacturing duties following established manufacturing, operating and quality standards, under the general direction of the production Supervisor.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Safety

- Checks work of, trains, and re-trains production area employees in EHS guidelines, Quality, and the operation of equipment

- Monitors and responds to employee concerns and advises supervisor of unresolved or unusual issues

- Follows prescribed safety rules and regulations

- Maintains and protects all company assets under your control while fostering loss prevention awareness

Housekeeping

- Maintains work area and equipment in a clean, safe and orderly condition

- Directs 5S Activities

Quality

- Direct employees on set-up and shutdown operations, raw material identification, SPC inspection and record keeping

- Perform quality checks to ensure product quality

- Maintains quality standards

- Visually inspects, measures and performs required checks and logs

- Resolves customer complaints in a timely and effective manner

- Responsible for maintaining and following ISO quality standards and standard operating procedures

- Ensure employees are trained on new procedures and their training records are updated

Service

- Training of employees

- Provide leadership in the operation and troubleshooting of all fabrication equipment

- Initiate work orders for repairs

- Assists in developing production schedule, works from the production schedule, verbal and written instructions to determine and assign duty stations to employees based upon production priority guidelines

- Checks previous shift run sheet and production summaries for accuracy and completeness

- Inputs data into production database

- Advises assigned personnel of production requirements

- Maintains necessary records

- Moves material as necessary in the performance of duties or as directed

- Works closely with management and fellow employees to keep an "open line" of communications to achieve "team concept" goals of our organization

This position will require:

- Working overtime

- Weekend work

- Working a fixed 2nd shift (with availability to work a 1st or 3rd shift on occasion)

This position may require:

- Working on holidays as needed

- Short notice call in

Basic Qualifications:

- Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher

- Minimum five (5) years of production and/or manufacturing experience

Preferred Qualifications:

- Strong computer skills

- Proven work record of leadership qualities, good attendance, and initiative
