The Time Warner Cable Corporate office currently seeks a Regulatory Reporting Staff Accountant II. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.

Position Summary

The purpose of the position is to analyze, calculate and record financial data as it relates to the regulatory reporting processes (franchise fees, copyrights, FCC and PEG fees) for the regions of TWC. Perform accurate and consistent accounting in compliance with corporate policies and procedures. Provide management with timely and accurate information to support business decisions.

Essential Job Functions:
Prepares monthly journal entries, account reconciliations and account analyses using computerized spreadsheets for franchise fee, copyright, FCC fee and PEG fee and related balance sheet and income statement accountsCoordinates responses to audit requests including those for franchise fee, copyright, and PEG fee auditsAnalyzes various costs for appropriate pass thru to subscribersCompletes semi-annual copyrights filingUtilizes computer applications to compile, retrieve and summarize accounting information for analyses and reporting purposesPrepares monthly, quarterly and annual reports for inclusion in corporate reporting packages and for outside agenciesPerforms analyses and reports on monthly income statement variances to prior periods, outlook and budgetIdentifies opportunities for improvement and standardization and raises opportunities to the appropriate supervisorPrepares workpapers in a clear and concise manner in accordance with management and external auditor requirementsPrepares ad hoc financial reporting requests, other analyses and special projects as requested by managementPerforms duties in compliance with GAAP, company and department policies and procedures, internal controls and Sarbanes-Oxley requirementsProvides superior internal customer service to the regions supported by the Regional Accounting
Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experienceTwo to five years related experienceStrong written, verbal and interpersonal skills; must be able to communicate ideas and issues effectively and concisely to all levels of management, internal and external auditors and outside contactsStrong analytical and problem solving skills including:Ability to analyze transactions, determine proper accounting and understand fluctuations and their driversAbility to understand our business transactions and how we account for those transactionsAbility to read, analyze and interpret corporate procedures, technical procedures and/or governmental regulations.Proficient in MS Office, specifically MS ExcelAbility to work independently with minimal supervision under stressful conditions and coordinate the completion of multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast paced environmentMust be able to work flexible hours, including hours beyond the normal work week when requiredMust be able to pay close attention to detail and understand oral and written instructionsMust display a positive attitude dedicated towards achieving results for the " team " as well as providing quality service and accuracy

Master ' s of Accountancy / CPAPublic accounting experiencePeopleSoft accounting and data extraction (query) software experienceContract review
Education and Experience:
Bachelor ' s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education and experience

Travel Requirements:
Yes, Travel. 10 % after initial transition
