What You'll Do
The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company's regular full-time staff, and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule. Major duties include:
Tracking status of manufacturing requirements for start of production
Following up with individual Manufacturing Engineers for related tasks for the readiness to manufacture new parts for durability and limited production build requirements
Scheduling meetings and maintaining design for manufacturing score-cards for New Product Program parts for Assembly departments.
Following up with low scored Design For Manufacturing items and driving to close the issues in a timely manner
What It Takes
We need excellent communicators, who thrive on solving problems and working in a team environment. Ideally, you will be pursuing a degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Technology; others may qualify. In addition we require:
Must be registered as a full-time student at a Waterloo area school
Must be able to commute to the work location on a daily basis
Grad date -- May 2017 or later
Cumulative GPA of 2.8 and above
16 - 20 hours/week during the academic year
35 - 40 hours/week during the summer semester
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word
A strong candidate will also have:
Capability of reading and understanding blueprints
Understanding of AutoCad
Basic electrical skills and understanding
