The Lead Developer will participate in the technical delivery of projects for the COM Team, assist in driving all aspects of the project from design through delivery to production. The Sr. Developer has knowledge in one or more programming languages or databases. This person must have an excellent understanding of the IT project life cycle, trends in the IT landscape and be able to influence IT leadership on streamlining those processes. The Developer II is honing the skills needed to guide and direct project teams in requirements definition, design, development and testing of complex applications/ programs. This person must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The Lead Developer has expert knowledge in one or more programming languages or databases. Excellent understanding of the entire project life cycle. Ability to guide and direct project teams in the requirements gathering, design, and development of complex applications/programs. Must present ideas to review boards. The Lead Developer must work closely with architects to ensure proper system design. Ensures highest quality implementations from design through QA to production. Assists multiple team members and other project leads in the day-to-day activities related to project work. Must be able to anticipate hardware and software design needs. The Lead Developer must have the ability to view packages and products to determine their viability within the solution being considered, or if they would be a good solution in other areas.

•Ensure compliance and conduct appropriate test reviews as necessary.
This position provides leadership skills and technical expertise for modifying and maintaining systems in order to meet user requirements and keep up with current technologies and apply to current projects. Must be results-oriented, and positive with excellent analytical and communication skills. The successful candidate must be a self-starter able to perform with minimal supervision while working in a diverse team environment following Agile software development processes; a well-rounded individual with great analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, enthusiasm for taking ownership of features, and possess a strong commitment to quality. Coaching and mentoring junior developers will be expected.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS -

* 7-8 years of Information Technology experience.
* Development in Java 1.6, HTML5, XML, Scripting Languages (Javascript, ActionScript, Unix Kornshell); Flex experience a plus
* Experienced in using frameworks such as Spring, Struts, MVC and working with tools such as Hibernate, Log4j, Sonar , and Jenkins
* SQL, Web Services, Data Transformation, and Data Movement Skills
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
* Manage and prioritize multiple tasks as assigned.
* Self-starter and take the initiative to learn new processes.
* Accept new challenges and can provide innovative solutions.
* Strong organizational and planning skills.
* High standard of integrity and reliability.
* Business acumen in Retail, CPG, Hospitality or Services industry a plus
* Good communication skills (verbal and written)

* Ability to work independently with minimal direction.

NATURE AND SCOPE -
  • Typically reports to Manager, Information Technology
  • No associates report to this role on a permanent basis, but requires the technical leadership of a project work team: may select team members and assess capabilities, provide technical training, provide information necessary to meet work, project or program objectives, evaluate program or project performance.


ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable. Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS -

Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must pass the Drug Test.
Must successfully complete any required training or orientation courses.

EDUCATION REQUIRED -

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
