About this job

The Buyer is responsible providing total logistics support to the manufacturing operation to ensure that the manufacturing operation has sufficient components / raw materials necessary to meet the build schedule and achieve targets set forth in the supply chain scorecard. Additionally, this position leads and supports purchasing activities for non-production materials and services via MLS systems and manages daily activities of the stockroom. Unusual hours may be required.

Key Accountabilities
* Management of component and resin procurements / communications to support Master production schedule
* Support inbound freight cost using Third Party Logistics provider, including support of internationals inbound freight
* Source purchased goods in line with company standards
* Manage and resolve supplier issues (cost, quality, delivery, etc.)
* Ensure on-time delivery of in-bound and out-bound products.
* Drive cost reductions

Qualifications:

* Requires a High School Diploma
* Associates and/or Bachelor's degree preferred in applied field of study.
* Minimum of 2 years experience in manufacturing environment with purchasing and supplier management skills.
* Intermediate to advanced knowledge of ERP Systems (MFGPro experience a plus)
* APICS certification and experience with OEM systems a plus
* Ability to train others - effective communicator.
* Must successfully complete all required training
* Must comply with all work rules, policies and procedures.
* Must comply with all safety rules and regulations
* Position requires walking, standing, and sitting. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis

* Manage component and resin procurements / communications to support Master production schedule
* Create supplier forecast and oversee all related planning parameters in ERP system
* Support supplier EDI processes
* Optimize component inventory levels
* Support inbound freight cost using third party logistics provider, including support of international inbound freight
* Ensure on-time delivery of products (inbound / outbound)
* Assist engineering change transition to minimize obsolescence, including assisting in new part and new suppliers management process. Routing instructions, packaging, procuring returnable dunage.
* Issue SNCR's to suppliers who are past due or any other issues with logistics
* Manage non-production suppliers
* Source purchased indirect materials, indirect services, and capital expenditures
* Support plan goals, (cost, quality, delivery, etc.)
* Manage and resolve supplier issues
* Support local buying functions: MRO/Stockroom, Plant Office Equipment and Contracts
* Drive Cost reductions / productivity
* Place purchase orders for non-production requirements
* Issue and receive parts
* Cycle counts
