Job Summary

The Account Representative is expected to develop relationships with the customer's management, influencers and decision makers from the plants, technical groups and corporate hierarchies. In this role the requirement is to identify and fulfill customer needs while following corporate policies and strategic directions. The Account Representative is expected grow the business by championing new business projects earned by leveraging his/her relationships with the customer. Work with company and customer for problem resolution and product performance improvements.

Responsibilities

Sales Development

  • Develop relationships with customer management and strategic personnel.
  • Active participation in strategic customer activities.
  • Prepare or assist in the preparation of required internal and external business documents and reports including business trips reports (BTRs).

Business Management

  • Identify new business opportunities and gather relevant information for APQP DR-0 "GO/No-GO" decision.
  • Coordinate approved new business opportunities in conjunction with Sales Engineer and other Sales Managers through launch.
  • Compile information from Sales and PC staff to create and maintain accurate forecasts.

Project Management

  • Initiate and manage the APQP process including QAS schedules for approved new opportunities.
  • Work with customer to develop and maintain accurate project schedule.
  • Must manage and systematically drive several projects simultaneously.
  • Promote interdepartmental coordination to support the customers' needs as well as the needs of Sunstar.

Market Intelligence

  • Gather information pertinent to technological advancements and the competitive environment.
  • Use market information to develop pricing strategies, technological development and business planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or similar science-related field.
  • Knowledge of industrial adhesives and/or coatings is a plus.
  • Must be an organized self-starter who has project management experience.
  • Travel is required and is estimated at 50-60%.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills with problem solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
