Quality Technical Manager (Metallurgical Engineer)

Responsibilities Include:
Build and maintain a proactive, customer focused, data driven quality program that represents the Voice Of the Customer driving plant quality improvements through systems and methods improvements and team based problem solving activities, troubleshooting process problems, leading projects, and tasking teams as indicated.
Co-champion in effectively leading the continual improvement of product quality by working very closely with the Plant Manager and other members of the Management team to provide product and process data that supports plant initiatives and direction.
Ensure quality management practices, manufacturing processes, and designated support systems are operating in compliance with documented procedures and achieving desired outcomes.
Provide routine feedback to management team of significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and actions being taken to improve the situation.
Assist with the development and implementation of corporate quality objectives, business strategy, general policies and practices of the Business Unit, the quality assurance program, including training, auditing, investigating and resolving Customer issues, and product approvals and process validation at the various facilities.
Requirements Include:
Minimum 2 years of experience in metal rolling / extrusion industry emphasis in process/ manufacturing knowledge.
Bachelors Degree in Engineering / Metallurgy / Material Science.
Strong computer skills using software programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical materials, financial reports, and legal documents.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Periodic overnight travel is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience in metal rolling / extrusion industry emphasis in process/manufacturing knowledge.
Knowledge of general laboratory practices for testing scrap material.
Familiarization with Oracle and shop floor reporting processes.
Knowledge of ISO9000 / TS16949 Quality Management Systems and associated AIAG Core Tools
Familiarization with the Six Sigma Methodology and Minitab Statistical Software.
