As a Cashier, you are responsible for taking orders from our guests, having a great attitude, smiling and knowing our menu.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Exhibits a high aptitude for service, being friendly to guests, smiling, saying hello and goodbye.
  • Communicates well with guests via phone and in person, for all orders, including to go orders.
  • Operates the POS system quickly and correctly.
  • Follows proper cash handling policies and guidelines, ensuring the drawer over/short is in acceptable company standard (2.00 +/-).
  • Understands our menu items and has the ability to explain to our guests – what’s in our grilled cheese, how the soups are made, soups, meats, etc.
  • Restocks items for sale (drinks, chips, merchandise), maintains a well-stocked front desk and soda area.
  • Assists with the maintenance of dining room cleanliness. Pre-busses and cleans tables as business dictates.
  • Maintains restroom cleanliness through scheduled checks, restocking as necessary.
  • Performs opening and closing checklists (shift and store) daily and communicates any items needing attention to the manager on duty.
  • Adheres to all restaurant policies and procedures paying special attention to health and/or safety procedures.
  • Assists with the running of food as business dictates.
  • Assists with preparation of food, aides in prepping and restocking of any products as business dictates.
  • Reports any problems or discrepancies to the manager immediately.
  • Maintains knowledge of and assists other workgroups as business dictates.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of 1 year customer service experience preferred.

Language Ability:
Aility to speak effectively before groups of guests or crewmembers. Ability to read and interpret documents such as policy information, memos, checklists, safety rules, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports, such as the completion of checklists.

Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the crewmember use and maintain the following equipment: oven, grill, stovetop, knives and utensils, dishwashing machine, slicer, blender, computer, fax, POS system and phone system.
