Aircraft Sheet Metal Mechanic (Journeyman)

Position: Sheet Metal Mechanic

Pay: $28.02 + $3.71/hr Health and Wellness Bonus (must be allocated to 401K)

Duration: Indefinite contract

Job Description:

Responsibilities:
* Performs general maintenance, modification and repair tasks
* Removes, repairs, fabricates, replaces, modifies, and installs aircraft parts and structural components.
* Lays out, cut, bends, forms, shapes, fits, drills, reams, installs fasteners, rivets, assemble and install sheet metal airframe structural members.
* Works with close tolerance dimensions and various types of fasteners using tools.
* Repairs and replaces aircraft skins, flight control surfaces, engine cowling and other structural parts.
* Fuel cell/tank maintenance and repair.
* Performs assigned tasks in accordance with engineering drawings, procedures, specifications, standards and maintenance manuals.
* Documents work performed on company forms records and workbooks.

Work Environment:

May be required to work in areas that are noisy, dusty and dirty. May be moderate discomforts, such as heat, cold and wind. This position requires normal physical functions such as frequent bending, reaching and climbing. Work may be performed on top or under equipment in awkward positions. May frequently lift and carry items weighing up to fifty pounds and occasionally lift heavier items with the assistance of other workers. Will be required to comply with safety requirements of the Standard Procedures Manual. May be required to wear professional protective equipment, where applicable.

Qualifications:

• Aircrafts: H-60's, H-53's, F-18's
  * Must be able to submit to background, physical, drug test
  * Will need a respiratory fit test
  * Must currently have DOD Secret clearance.
