The Sr. Clinical Production Support / Data Analyst role has direct interaction with business partners across UHC Commercial, Medicare, and the Medicaid lines of business.  This position will also work with business operations, business analysts, and data analysts to understand current process, and business requirements in order to support the creation and enhancements of system solutions and reports used to drive medical cost savings. You must maintain a high degree of accuracy and technical competence; possess superior attention to detail, and exhibit excellent analysis skills.


 


Primary Responsibilities:



  • Design and create reports for internal and external clients based on business requirements (i.e. healthcare utilization data)
  • Identify and analyze applicable source data (e.g. internal/external data feeds, systems, database, “sources of truth”)
  • Obtain appropriate data source approvals/sign-offs as needed
  • Define, document, and maintain data collection, storage and management processes to support the production operations and data warehouse functions
  • Analyze data gathered and design potential solutions for integration
  • Collaborate with business partners to ensure data standardization (e.g., enterprise standards)
  • Ensure that the deployment process is fully documented and compliant with all operational requirements for the data warehouse/data mart and BI
  • Identify, collect and communicate information on issues related to the system, reports, or procedures,  and manage resolution to the issues
  • Check quality of program, reports, and findings before delivery
  • Support, recommend and document testing strategies and success factors for testing
  • Identify and investigate new data warehousing strategies to meet emerging business needs
  • Review, analyze and update project estimates, timelines, dependencies and deliverables to ensure achievement of project goals
  • Identify and investigate new data warehousing strategies to meet emerging business needs
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise Information Management standards and processes (e.g., data release governance, security, archiving, data quality, etc.) and provide feedback as appropriate
  • Coaches, and provides feedback and guidance to others on the team with less experience

 

Requirements


Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, Health Administration or related field required OR HS Diploma/GED plus 5+ years equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience integrating data from large relational databases
  • Proven ability to analyze and test solutions in order to discover and report any defects, errors, configuration issues and interoperability flaws
  • Understanding of data integration and management requirements (e.g., governance, archiving, data modeling, data quality)
  • 3+ years of experience writing advanced programming in SQL and Visual Studio (C#, ASP.NET)
  • 3+ years of experience with SSIS and SSRS
  • Experience offering and creating solutions for new and emerging data warehousing needs and creating efficiencies

 


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Understanding healthcare insurance industry (preferably clinical)
  • Some Production Operations experience
  • Some Quality Assurance and Testing experience
  • Knowledge of ACOs and population health management methods
  • Knowledge of STARS/HEDIS Quality Care Gaps
  • Knowledge of UHG claim data across (E&I, M&R and C&S)
  • Working knowledge of any of the following internal systems: ICUE, CareOne, V360, NDB, CDB, TOPS, COSMOS, CSP Facets, or Linx preferred.
  • Prefer location Minneapolis, MN or Phoenix, AZ
