Summary:
This is a contract/remote position. We are seeking a qualified individual who lives in the Midwest or Southwest, areas of the US.
The Implementation Field Service Technician is task with installation, testing, and training customers on the usage of livescan systems in various environments. The Field Service Technician must have good customer interface skills and be able to effectively hold training classes. The Field Service Technician must have good problem solving skills and be comfortable working in a non-structured environment.
Qualifications:
*Installation of PC-based live scan biometric systems
*Perform simple file modifications to configure software
*Install drivers, printers, and other peripheral devices in Windows XP/Vista/7 system environments
*Resolve technical issues related to the configuration and use of the live scan system
*Train customer how to use the integrated live scan hardware and software
*Passion for delivering high quality products and solutions
*Solid desktop support and troubleshooting skills, including hands-on experience with a variety of hardware platforms running Windows Operating systems
*Ability to understand how computers interact with a network, server operations, IP addresses, software installation and basic trouble shooting
*Able to work independently
*Excellent verbal communications skills
Education and/or Experience:
*AS degree or equivalent experience in information technology
*5 - 6 years' experience in both server and desktop administration and/or network installation
*2 years' experience providing technical training to end users
*A+, Networking+ certification desired, a plus
Language Skills:
* English
Travel Requirements:
*75% to 100%
*Candidate must live Central and/or Southwest US
*Candidates should live within a reasonable distance of a major airport
Additional Responsibilities, Education and/or Experience:
*General technical knowledge/skills related to support of PC hardware, software, and networking
*A+, Network +, MCSE certifications a plus
