Electrical Engineer/Sr. Electrical Technician Opportunity
I have an immediate need for a contract Electrical Engineer/Sr. Electrical Technician to perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting of various electrical based issues that arise during manufacturing. This position is located in Rochester, NY and may require a small amount of travel to customer sites (<10%). Responsibilities will include troubleshooting controllers for industrial controls, as well as industrial control panels and related issues. This engineer will also be responsible for developing obsolescence plans for various components. Pay is based on experience and ranges from $33-35+/hr. for a qualified candidate. A qualified person must have a strong technical knowledge as well as interpersonal/people skills. This individual will be supporting the production floor, and will need to relate to a wide variety of engineering and manufacturing personnel. I have included additional information below for you to review.
Required Skills:
- Experience and knowledge working with and troubleshooting issues related to motor VFDs (variable frequency drives)
- Experience with analog & digital control systems
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, may use oscilloscopes and multi-meters in the lab
- Ability to read BOM's and blueprints/schematics to support troubleshooting efforts
- Candidate must have a high level of independent troubleshooting related to electrical control systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial control systems.
- Associates degree with additional years of directly related experience MAY be substituted.
- 3+ years working with motor VFD's.
- 3+ years of experience working with analog and digital control systems.
