43163 - Sodexo Senior Living is seeking a Chef Manager for Covenant Shores, Mercer Island, (Seattle) WA. This is Seattle's Premier Retirement Community located on the shores of scenic Lake Washington with nearby Seattle just eight miles west and Bellevue even closer to the east. This 350 Residents Continuing Care Retirement Community has two main kitchen and six dining locations that include meals for; assisted living, skilled nursing, skill nursing memory support, and rehab services. We also have a small Bistro in our Independent Living building which services residents, guests, and staff. Position is responsible for the kitchen area, will also work closely with the Clinical Nutrition Manager to oversee quality service in multiple dining rooms. Catering experience to deliver special events is important for the success in this position. Position will assist with the supervision, training and scheduling of 10 employees. Position participates in food committee meetings to engage Residents on feedback for service enhancements.
Candidate Skills/Certification:
Culinary Degree/Trade School Certificate and Servsafe Certificate
Health Care and Contract Food Service Management experience
Ability to manage inventory for a budget of 2 million in financial volume
HR skills to assist with the management of 10 employees
Computer skills to work in Food & Labor Management Systems
Experience with high volume food production and quality standards
Menu Planning for residents, employee cafeteria, coffee shop, and catering
Working knowledge of HACCP monitors for Regulatory compliance
Dynamic leadership skills for outcomes that exceed client and Resident expectations
Schedule may vary and include rotating weekend and holiday management coverage.

Position Summary
Supervises cooks and oversees the preparation, portioning, garnishing, and storage of food. Estimates food consumption and purchases food. May assist in cooking and preparing food as necessary. Responsible for maintaining kitchen and storage facilities in sanitary condition. Responsible for cash management. Interacts with client/customers on a regular basis. This position is the leader for an account/unit chef/production group. This position is in smaller accounts/units where there is not a Executive Chef or Food Production Manager. Reports to General Manager.
Qualifications & Requirements
Basic Education Requirement - Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree
Basic Management Experience - 1 year
Basic Functional Experience - 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
Sodexo will require a background check and may require a drug screen for this position.
