With over 900 retail centers in North America, we continue to grow. Currently we are seeking a Production Supervisor to join our team at our production facility in Huron, OH. The Huron site includes four separate manufacturing plants (Decorative, Specialty Coatings, Dramatone, and Resin), manufacturing approximately 25 million filled gallons of water borne and solvent borne decorative coatings annually, along with approximately 12 million gallons of packaging coatings in the Resin plant. Candidates for this opening must be willing to work 2nd and/or 3rd shift.

The Production Supervisor is responsible for providing an effective management process to ensure a safe work environment, implementing strategies and policies to improve day-to-day and long-term operation of the plant, and supporting the Huron Leadership Team initiatives on plant projects as requested.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a safe and healthy work environment for all employees through proper maintenance of equipment and facilities and elimination of health hazards to prevent work stoppage and time loss due to accidents, while ensuring adherence to all applicable environmental, health and safety regulations, standards and policies. Provide an effective management processes to ensure safe work behavior by employees.
  • Supervise the 2nd and 3 rd shift production teams and ensure that each employee understands and adheres to all company policies and procedures regarding safety, health and the environment and that the proper training programs are in place to ensure that all applicable standards are met.
  • Effectively manage associates, encouraging a continuous improvement of individual performance and while maintaining the operating philosophy of Huron Management.
  • Comply with all EEO policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the facilitation of regular production meetings to enhance the communications between shifts and teams.
  • Promote open discussion of process improvements and techniques in order to drive the Huron Plant toward cost and operating objectives.
  • Present recommendations to the Plant Manager and implement approved programs. Actively participate in implementing strategies and policies, which constantly improve the day-to-day and long-term operation of the plant. Provide input into decisions regarding direction, training, goal setting, discipline and other administrative functions.
  • Support the overall objectives of the Huron Leadership Team through active participation on plant projects and teams as requested.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, manufacturing technology or related field is preferred however candidates with equivalent manufacturing work experience will be considered.
  • Requires 3-5 years of previous manufacturing supervisory experience.
  • Successful candidates will also possess strong judgment /decision making skills and strong communication skills.
