We have a full-time/part-time opening for a Maintenance Tech.

Must be able to work various shifts per week.

Requirements

Our client is seeking an experienced Maintenance Tech. The ideal candidate will be experienced in working in safety focused based teams with Operations Technicians, as well as have experience in preventative and predictive maintenance. This candidate should possess expertise with high-speed production equipment, power transmissions, variable speed drives, servos, basic I/O, machine control and PLCs.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports without hesitation: General Plant Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices with an understanding that these are absolutes are Priority #1
  • Performs Preventive and Predictive maintenance
  • Troubleshoots various equipment, corrects issue, recommends plan of action and determines root cause
  • Interprets blueprints and reads equipment manuals when necessary
  • Ensure equipment in area is maintained, guarded and operated in accordance with defined safety regulations and procedures
  • Understand levels of scrap and rework in area caused by equipment issues and associated points of cause
  • Create a Continuous Improvement environment by improving products, service, and processes with the objective to reduce waste within the region while striving for efficiency and profitability
  • Proactively identify improvement focus areas
  • Promotes a strong team environment
  • Flexibility and ability to multi-task are key
  • Must be able to share knowledge and help others to learn
  • Work closely with Production Resource Leaders to provide effective maintenance support
  • Understand levels of line downtime caused by equipment issues and associated points of cause
  • May be required to operate production equipment to ensure it is working properly

Basic Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required
  • 1-3 years of experience with demonstrated above average maintenance skills including: basic welding, electrical wiring, equipment set-up and changeover, reading of blueprints and schematics
  • Experience with high-speed production equipment, power transmissions, variable speed drives, servos, basic I/O, machine control and PLCs
  • Experience in a bakery maintenance department is preferred but not required
  • Demonstrated basic computer skills
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Requires ability to communicate effectively with others
  • Demonstrates ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and to repair
  • Owns essential basic tools for a mechanic
  • Position requires individual to stand, walk, and kneel for long periods
  • Must be able to lift 30 -50 lbs. if necessary
