What You'll Be Doing:
- Manages and coordinates assigned division/segment accounts receivable activities. Responsible for accuracy/corrections to customer accounts, reconciliation of revenue accounts, general ledger entries, generation of invoices/posting of sales, verification of deposits and postings to accounts receivable. Oversees collection process for assigned business division/segments:
- Supervises assigned staff. Hires, trains, coaches/develops and manages employees' performance including providing regular feedback (both positive and remedial), discipline as needed and performance appraisals and wage administration communicates and enforces company policies and ensures a safe environment.
- Responsible for accounts receivable functions for business segments including proper accounting of complex and large billing, collection and program deduction and discount transactions.
- Reviews and/ or reconciles assigned general ledger accounts to sub ledger or proper supporting documentation, researching and correcting any reconciling items. Assists with period end entries for bad debts, discounts etc.
- Works with and serves as resource to department and operational management investigating and resolving division/segment accounts receivable issues.
- Reviews credit data and makes decisions regarding credit limits. Maintains plan to control collections, monitoring staff's progress and keeping management updated. Reviews slow paying accounts history to determine proper adjustments to credit limits, terms, future orders, and further collection activity.
- Evaluates work processes and develops or modifies standard operating procedures to improve operating efficiency.
- Ensures proper, complete internal controls exist allowing accurate account receivable processing and reporting for assigned business division/segment(s). Ensures controls are functioning effectively
What You Need to Bring to the Table:
- Bachelor degree or equivalent degree in finance/accounting or equivalent
- 5-7 years' experience in credit and receivables field
- Overall knowledge of accounting principles
- Supervisory/management experience
- Advanced computer skills; excellent communication skills; strong organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and develop support staff
- Knowledge of Lawson and Oracle applications
