Nurse Manager (RN) -- Pediatric Emergency Services

As a result of the continued advances in quality care, many improvements in all areas of healthcare have been made and thousands of lives have been significantly impacted. This position will play a key part in continuing our success!

This position will oversee our Pediatric ED staff for the existing 4 bed Peds ED and upcoming growth!

The Children's Hospital at TriStar Centennial began in 2012 with Pediatric Med-Surg, PICU, NICU, Transport and Kids Express Services. Since that time, we have grown to also include Pediatric Oncology, Neurodiagnostic and Sleep Services, a wide range of Surgical Services, Cardiology and construction of a new Adult & Pediatric Emergency Department is underway to complete in late 2016!!!

Responsibilities:

Demonstrates knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment and care of patients served.

Demonstrates the facility's Standards of Performance, ICARE values and Patient Promise

Promotes customer service initiatives.

Utilizes nursing process for individual care to meet needs of patients.

Demonstrates ability to perform technical skills and procedures.

Documents all patient care.

Responsible for direction and coordination of the ED

Assumes responsibility for daily operations of the unit to include scheduling, staffing, evaluation of staff performance and provides constructive criticism/counseling as needed in a professional manner.

Participates in staff selection for the unit in collaboration with other members of the leadership team

Responsible for overall quality of nursing care provided on the unit

Makes decisions regarding activities based on Administrative Operational Standards, Nursing Administrative Standards, Human Resource Standards and Standards of Care for the unit, in collaboration with other members of the management team.

Qualifications:

Current Registered Nurse licensure by Tennessee Board of Nursing or approved compact state

Bachelor's Degree required

Minimum of three years' critical care clinical experience

Minimum of three years' supervisor/managerial experience

Excellent computer skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

BLS/ACLS required

PALS certification required w/in 6 months of hire

CEN, ENPC, CPEN preferred
