Credit Associate

Supports the origination, underwriting and portfolio management process for a portfolio of ~20 General Industrial global corporations generally in excess of $2.0Bn in revenue with both investment grade and sub-investment grade credit profiles. Performs financial, business and industry analyses, conducts research, and prepares internal credit approval documentation. Responsible for managing the credit approval process by supervising the workflow of analysts and the portfolio monitoring team to ensure quality and timeliness of work deliverables to achieve client deadlines.

Other responsibilities and skills include:

*Underwriting of key ancillary corporate banking products including Treasury, Card, Letters of Credit, Capital Markets Products and International bilateral facilities;

*Ensure relevant identification and mitigation of macro-economic risks, specific industry risks, and micro risks;

*Ensure effective and consistent compliance with bank and regulatory underwriting policies and control procedures;

*Demonstrate a foundational understanding of syndicated credit and ancillary product documentation (Credit Agreements, Guarantees, Security Agreements, Letters of Credit, Master Card Agreements, ISDA/CSAs, Corporate Authorizations, etc.) with the ability to partner with Sr. Officer to structure / negotiate appropriate terms and conditions;

*Understand the Global Banking & Markets complex product spectrum;

*Drive speed to market and appropriate allocation of capital and risk-adjusted profitability to ensure asset quality and risk/reward trade off.

Note: This position is posted as 13 Associate however can be filled a 14 Associate, 15 Associate or 12 Associate.

Qualifications

*BA/BS undergraduate degree (Finance, Accounting or Econ preferred)

*Strong technical skills, including financial statement accounting, cash flow and sensitivity modeling

*Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

*Formal credit training. Minimum 3 years previous work experience in a credit underwriting role.

*Ability to manage multiple complex projects while delivering high quality results to meet client deadlines.

*Ability to work within a team and effectively communicate with managers, business partners, clients and attorneys.

*Strong Mentoring skills. Previous experience coaching and developing junior teammates.

*Leadership, initiative, self-motivation and resourcefulness.

Desired Skills

*Large corporate banking experience

*Knowledge of General Industrials sector (Automotive, Packaging, Transportation, Airlines, Environmental Services, Building Materials, Equipment & General Manufacturing) a plus
