Job Summary Performs Journeyman work in the operation, installation, maintenance and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration equipment and accessories.

Maintain, repair and install the building's heating, ventilation, air conditioning and associated controls and piping, and other building mechanical equipment such as steam generators, heat exchangers, pumps, chillers and cooling towers. May remove and install insulation, as required. Repair, replace, and check high and low pressure chillers, motors blowers, belts and controls; checks all safety devices and controls, replacing and repairing when needed clean air handlers, blowers, ducts and similar apparatus, overhauls compressors, condensers and other equipment as needed. Make mechanical and electrical (480 volts or below) alterations, as required, to the air conditioning equipment, heating, ventilation, air conditioning controls, and other mechanical equipment. Respond to requests for service adjustments and other trouble calls. Troubleshoot design and system control problems and make emergency repairs, as required. Maintain accurate log of CFC usage and repairs to CFC equipment and other monitoring equipment. Perform preventative maintenance, equipment lubrication, and daily inspections in accordance with a well defined program. Institute a corrective action and/or inform supervisor of any deficiencies found in the course of performing the job. Utilize diagnostic test equipment and other related tools of the trade. Perform other related work as assigned. Supervise repair personnel as assigned .

Minimum Requirements Must possess Class I stationery engineer License, DC 3rd steam boiler engineer license, Journeyman HVAC license or equivalent. Universal CFC license. Working knowledge of steam systems and building management systems. Capable of servicing all refrigeration systems. Thorough working knowledge of national and local HVAC codes. Ability to comprehend written and oral instructions. A willingness to work rotational shift if necessary, including days, evenings, and nights, as well as overtime, weekends, and holidays, as required. Six years experience in the HVAC trade in maintenance and/or construction required. High school, technical school, apprenticeship, trade school graduate or equivalent required. Must be a U.S. Citizen, Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance. Preferred Qualifications Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
