Job Summary :
With a friendly, upbeat and positive attitude, the Hotel Houseperson is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of all corridors, linen storage, elevator landing areas, stairwells and service elevators; For providing timely service to internal guests through the prompt and timely service of theirs carts; For providing timely service to our external guests by expeditiously meeting guests' needs through the delivery or removal of items
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Must possess effective communication skills.
Must be able to understand and comply with the requirements for safe handling of chemicals.
Ability to read and comprehend a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints.
Must possess good analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking and decision making skills.
Must be a team player.
Essential Functions:
Ensures, through proper supervision, effective functioning of all Housekeeping support services, including but not limited to, linen delivery, supply delivery, amenity delivery, and retrieval of used linen and trash.
Routinely inspects work areas, identifying cleaning needs, potential safety hazards, problems or repair needs, and reporting same to the proper person(s) for resolution.
Coordinates with the Housekeeping Supervisor and Inventory Clerk to maintain appropriate equipment inventory, and ensure equipment is functional and in good working order.
Maintains corridors and back-of-house areas, to ensure compliance with company policies and company standards of excellence.
Ensures prompt maintenance and repair of Hotel equipment, by reporting all maintenance requests to the appropriate person in a timely manner.
Any and all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Physical, Mental & Environmental Demands :
Must be able to work independently.
Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time, 6 -- 8 hrs.
Must be able to maneuver from floor to floor either by stairways (a minimum of 20 steps) or by elevator.
Responds to visual and aural cues.
Must be able to stoop, bend, twist, turn, push and pull, as well as lift and carry a minimum of 25 lbs.
Must have the manual dexterity to key in data, grab, grip, hold, tear, cut, sort and reach.
Must be able to tolerate areas containing second hand smoke, dust, loud noises and bright lights.
Must be able to work a varied schedule, holidays and weekends as requested.
