The idea Machinist candidate will be highly skilled in more than one area/process and flexible to carry out duties without close supervision. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures. Produces parts using various types of manual machinery in various areas of the machine shop, in quantities and within the time limits as per order, to the specifications of relevant process documents, to a quality as required by relevant detail drawing.
Responsibilities:
- Produce various parts of metal and plastic through the operation of manually operated machine machines including:
- Lathe turning, engine lathing specifically
- Milling
- Drilling / Tapping
- Using various gauges.
- Interpret engineering drawings.
- Able to set-up the machine using established program and tooling.
- Responsible for first off inspection.
- Monitor time spent on assembly.
- Support all other operational functions as required.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
Five plus years of experience,
Certificate in relevant discipline,
Or related experience and/or training.
Or equivalent combination or education or experience.
Knowledge & Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
