The Time Warner Cable Corporate office currently seeks a Sr. Software Engineer for our OSS/RIO Data Acquisition Team. Please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.
Essential Job Functions:
Primary job responsibilities will include (but not be limited to) the following tasks. Other duties may be assigned depending on changes in business and/or operational needs:
·Develop software to support services providing data to OSS/RIO User Interface team.
·Work with OSS/RIO Data Acquisition team to provide database mapping and storage solutions for OSS data using new technologies like HBase/Hadoop.
·Provide integration from legacy OSS tool sets into the new RIO suite of tools.
·Collaborate with team and contribute to overall strategy for data storage and service delivery.
Overall Responsibilities:
·Lead/oversee the technical installation and support of OSS/RIO Data Acquisition projects
·Supporting production deployment & support of OSS/RIO Data Acquisition software & solutions
·Documentation of development deliverables such as detailed designs, test plans etc
·Work closely with support organizations (such as NOCs, helpdesks and other teams) to turnover issue triage and escalation functions for OSS/RIO Data Acquisition platforms
·Review and approve project deliverables from vendors/suppliers as applicable
·Manage and/or perform installation and integration testing of OSS/RIO Data Acquisition solutions prior to production deployment
·Provide post-production support for OSS/RIO Data Acquisition solutions
·Assist in troubleshooting issues in test and production environment
·Develop documentation and material in support of the installation and support of OSS/RIO Data Acquisition solutions
Job Requirements:
·Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent
·At least 5-7 years related software development/installation/deployment
·Effective verbal and written communication skills
·Good organizational skills and strong problem-solving ability
·Ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple tasks simultaneously under pressure and meet goals / deadlines in timely manner
·Adaptability in dealing with constant changes in the organization and project lifecycles
·Strong presentation skills and proven ability to interface with all levels of the company
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience with:
·Databases : Oracle, MySQL, HBase, Solr
·Programming Languages : Ruby/jRuby, Java, Go, PHP
·Operating Systems: Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.) Solaris, Mac OSX
Education and Experience:
Bachelor ' s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education and experience.
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:
