Production Manager - Full-time

We are looking for a Fulltime/Permanent Production Manager

Our Client offers a full range of capabilities under one roof. They cover a wide variety of custom fabricated services including custom die-cutting (steel rule and rotary), waterjet cutting, laser cutting, EDM cutting, CNC routing, as well as CNC turning and machining. They also provide hard-to-find services including laminating, skiving, slitting, kitting and sub-assemblies.  

SUMMARY:  Maintain production capacity by determining work flow, monitoring personnel and resources, updating production priorities, managing staff.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following:

• Manages production schedules and works with department leads to complete production jobs on time.
• Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process: observing control points, monitoring personnel and resources, reviewing production methods; facilitates corrections to malfunctions within the process control points, initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
• Works with Management and Sales to determine production priorities by analyzing equipment, materials and staff availability.  Coordinate effective communication between sales, customer service, and purchasing personnel.
• Drive a quality mindset within the process to verify conformance to job specification(s).  Initiate ownership of the process at every level within the production environment.
• Evaluates and sets production schedules including control and estimates of worker hours requirements for completion of job assignments.
• Inspect products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines.
• Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing, promoting, following, and enforcing standards and procedures that comply with legal requirements.
• Responsible for production personnel efficiency and productivity.  Works with management to suggest changes in processes, personnel, equipment, etc. to continuously improve production efficiency and thus overall productivity.
• Analyzes and resolves work problems, and assists workers in solving problems
• Responsible for production staff by selecting, orienting, training and developing personal growth opportunities for all production employees.
• Initiates and suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
• Responsible for production capacity to support customer requirements and meet the growth expectations set by management.
• Updates Job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

Experience in using ERP/Job management software platforms preferred.

Need experience and understanding of AS-9100 and ISO-9001 quality systems and processes.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

BA Degree or 5(+) years of work experience managing in a production environment.

• Need experience and understanding of AS-9100 and ISO-9001 quality systems and processes.
• Experience in using ERP/Job management software platforms preferred.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

• Ability to read, comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
