Looking for experience in Engineering? The Universal Parks & Resorts Creative Division is currently seeking Engineering Interns with Mechanical or Electrical Engineering educational backgrounds. Intern opportunities can include exposure to project management, drawing updates, data integrity, analytical skills, and much more.
Engineering Interns at Universal Parks & Resorts Creative are responsible for:
- Understanding organization and planning efforts of the Master Planning phase.
- Understanding the various facility interfaces.
- Problem Formulation.
- Performing various types of analysis.
- Ensuring accuracy and integrity of data during capture and input into maintenance management systems.
- Assisting with projects during design phases and providing updates.
- Assisting with updates to policies and specifications.
- Understanding and actively participating in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established Universal Orlando policies, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
To perform the role of an Engineering Intern successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Must be actively enrolled in school in order to participate.
- Must be available during August – December 2015.
- Must be pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA preferred.
- Must have strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have strong computer skills with Microsoft Office products, AutoCAD, and 3D design tools.
- Valid Florida Driver’s License preferred.
- Must be willing to work 20-40 hours per week Monday – Friday.
- If either a Computer Science or Computer Engineering major, then general programming knowledge (C#, Visual Basic, MatLab) is required. Basic knowledge of Linux and Ethernet networking is preferred.
The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of the Engineering Intern job.
- While performing the duties of this job, the individual may be exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
- While performing the duties of this job, the individual must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- While performing the duties of this job, the individual is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; talk or hear; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; climb or balance; and reach with hands and arms.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include: Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less), Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more), Color Vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors), Depth Perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships), Ability to Adjust Focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus).
