Nova Management is seeking a Systems Administrator.The ideal candidate will be responsible for one or more systems, responsible for ensuring all administration, documentation, and duties of assigned systems are accomplished following set guidelines. In addition, perform activities including but not limited to troubleshooting systems issues on servers, personal computers, and the network.May be required to travel to various office locations to perform job duties. Our client is a leading bank and financial services company.

This is a contract to hire opportunity located in Santa Maria, CA.

The responsibilities of this position are:
* Configures, troubleshoots, and resolves issues on assigned applications and systems.Plans, coordinates, and implements software and hardware changes on workstation, servers, routers, and switches.
* Responsible for systems administration which includes applications, operating systems and hardware.
* Oversees proper implementation of patching and security updates on applications and hardware within the network on assigned applications and systems.
* Oversees backup and restoration of system data.
* Monitors and analyzes equipment performance and recommends appropriate action when required.
* May serve as a representative on the Change Control Committee for assigned systems or department.Will be required to ensure proper Change Control process and procedures are executed as it pertains to assigned application and systems.
* Creates and maintains documentation associated with assigned applications.Documentation will consist of but is not limited to, server setup designs, backup schedules, application systems dependencies, escalation process flow, and Service Level Agreements.
* Ensures proper documentation is produced for internal/external audits, and bank regulators.
* Conducts research to remain up-to-date and knowledgeable in regards to industry trends and emerging technologies in anticipation of new business processes and system alterations.
* Responsible for development and routine testing of business continuity and disaster recovery plans for assigned applications, maintaining current knowledge of plan executables.Responds to emergency application and system outages in accordance with business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
* Manages and assists with projects related to assigned systems: performs vendor, hardware and software evaluations; assists in developing PSA and PID documentation and working with projects teams and business owners in implementation.
* Analyzes software and hardware and makes recommendations to ensure applications and hardware are meeting current and future demands.
* Maintains open communication between IS, IT, Security departments and business managers with regularly scheduled meetings, correspondences, and phone calls.
* May be responsible of providing accurate data for the monthly reporting of metrics to management.
* Performs all other job duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualified candidates will have:
* Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field preferred with 4 years related work experience required; or High School Diploma or equivalent with 7 years related work experience required.
* Possess excellent human relations, communications and business writing skills.
* Possess effective time management and organizational skills.
* Able to cope with pressure resulting from meeting required deadlines and reporting requirements.
