Hardlines Responsibilities

· Scope of responsibility: Hardlines Departments (equipment, balls, bags/carts/travel, and accessories).

· Responsible for the implementation of merchandise standards, signage in the Hardlines Departments to meet company standards and to maximize profit.

· Assists in training Hardlines associates in company procedures and programs, including new hire and ongoing merchandising and product/technical training.

· Communicates all company information to Hardlines associates regarding special promotions and company programs.

· Works with the General Sales Manager to analyze sales reports and data to understand Hardlines merchandise needs and opportunities and communicates these needs through the company-directed programs.

Operations

· Responsible for stockroom, freight flow, and all back-of-house processes and procedures including RTV’s, transfers, receipt of drop shipments, etc.

· Responsible for processing and pricing of the trade-in/used club business.

· Responsible for ensuring cleanliness standards in their area of responsibility as well as throughout the store.

Sales Manager on Duty

· Performs the Sales Manager on Duty (SMOD) responsibilities, ensuring that customers are greeted and acknowledged; offers customers assistance as needed or requested. Establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers and gains their trust and respect by using diplomacy and tact.

· Assists the store management team in achieving a shrink level equal to, or less than, the goal set by the Corporate Loss Prevention Department, by maintaining company loss prevention standards and controls.

· Assists the store management team with general supervision in the store in accordance with company policies and procedures including opening and closing the store and coverage as assigned.

WISE

· Is WISE certified (via the Learn Center); actively promotes and exhibits expertise in WISE-selling techniques, and supports and executes WISE-mentoring initiatives and programs. nistrative

· Takes an active role in helping to ensure that the store meets its P&L objectives for sales, margin, inventory, payroll, and other controllable expenses, such as supplies and operating costs. In conjunction with the Softlines Manager, completes schedules to ensure proper coverage and monitors daily to ensure that the payroll plan is met.

· Participates in recruiting, interviewing, selecting, training, guiding, leading and evaluating Hardlines hourly associates.

· Partners with the General Sales Manager to issue appropriate counseling and disciplinary action to those associates who fail to meet or achieve company policies, procedures, and performance standards.

· Helps to ensure compliance with all company guidelines involved with safety, loss prevention, and cash handling procedures.

· Shops the competition to competitively position the store.

· Maintains a thorough knowledge of products, services, merchandise promotions, and advertising.

· Maintains confidentially of all proprietary company information.

· Monitors store email and TEAM communications and takes action on directives and projects as needed.

· Complies with all federal, state and local regulations regarding store operations.

Education and Experience

· Retail experience (golf not necessary)

· 2-3 years supervision of people
