DISH’s Ad Sales team is an innovative, passionate and fun group working hard and finding reward in radically changing TV advertising.   We are based out of New York City, with offices in Chicago, Denver and Los Angeles. The Data and Analytics team is the backbone of Dish Media Sales. We work with the largest continuous Set-top-box data set in the industry and provide advertisers with a way to deliver addressable advertising at national scale. 

 

The Business Analyst will be responsible for providing reporting on TV ad campaigns, building case studies and responding to client questions on campaign performance. The Analyst will have an opportunity to work with the best TV data available and a close-knit high-performing team. 

A successful Business Analyst will have the following:

  • A Bachelor’s degree
  • 2+ years of experience with data gathering, performing analyses, building reports, and making recommendations. A degree in a numerical field (Engineering, Math, Physics, Finance, etc.) is acceptable in lieu of experience
  • Working knowledge of SQL, and advanced Excel (Pivot tables, VBA, etc.) , some scripting experience (such as Python, Ruby) will be ideal
  • Working knowledge of Tableau (or similar BI tools) would be ideal
  • Willingness to learn and keep an open mind
  • Entrepreneurial and a self-starter
  • Excellent written and verbal communication

Primary responsibilities fall into the following categories: 

  • Create and maintain ad-hoc and recurring reports to support the ad-sales business
  • Suggest and implement improved reporting automation; work with Dish IT as necessary
  • Write case-studies that highlight campaign performance; provide targeted insights for client-facing presentations
  • Communicate key campaign findings to Account Executives, clients and management as needed
  • Perform special projects, research, analysis, and presentations as requested by senior leadership
