Seeking a talented and dynamic Director of Finance and Accounting / Controller. Be part of the solution for consumers hardest-hit by the recession. In this vital operational position, you will be responsible for the organization's accounting and finance operations, including production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.

You will also oversee the company’s annual, short and long-term budgetary planning and costs management in alignment with the strategic plan. Further, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and oversight of the company’s accounts receivables/payables, banking/cash management operations, tax and audit functions and financial reconciliations and reporting.

You will put your leadership experience to good use as you Mentor and develop the Corporate Support staff, manage work allocation, training, problem resolution, performance evaluations, and the building of an effective team dynamic. Guide larger, cross-divisional teams outside of direct span of control within the multiple subsidiaries.

Reports to VP of Administration and CEO / President.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university with major course work in accounting or a related field. CPA license is a must, MBA is a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as Corporate Controller or equivalent: Experience in a senior financial management role, partnering with senior management, resulting in the development and implementation of creative financial management strategies, preferably in a non-profit organization. 3-5 year supervisory experience of managing an accounting department of 10 or more.
  • Significant experience in or knowledge of non-profit accounting, including sophisticated fund and grant accounting, compliance, and reporting. Must have accounted for grants in excess of $5.0; understand compliance with OMB Circulars A-87, A-110 and OMB-122; Experience in managing a A-133 Audit and a Financial Audit; strong understanding and experience with filing 990 Tax Return.
  • Experience working with information technology staff to manage finance and accounting software packages, familiar with the SAGE accounting software. Possess high level skills using personal computer applications such as Microsoft Office, CRT, and 10 key by touch.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated leadership ability, team management, and interpersonal skills.
