Cashier - Customer Service - Full-time / Part-time

Road Ranger, LLC. a Truck Stop Company, is seeking candidates for the position of: Cashier

Operates cash register to itemize and total customer’s purchases in a fueling station/ convenience retail store by performing the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

I. Customer Service

Responsible for quality and a “we’re glad you’re here attitude.” Responsible for Four rules of customer service which are we greet customers at the door, we greet the customer again at the counter, we ask the customer if there is anything we can get for them, and we encourage the customer to come back and see us again.

II. Responsible for safe guarding cash

Collects cash, check, or charge payment from customer and makes change from cash transactions. Counts money in cash drawer at the beginning and end of every work shift. Records daily transaction amounts from cash register to balance cash drawer. Responsible for end shift reports and cash overages and shortages.

III. Responsible for safe guard of store and inventory control

Reviews price sheets to note price changes and sale items. Records prices and departments, subtotals, taxable items, and total purchases in cash register. Stock shelves and marks prices on items. (Able to lift up to forty lbs.) Responsible for end of shift of cigarette shortages.

IV. Responsible for store appearance

Responsible for some cleaning and maintenance, emptying trash, washing pumps, and cleaning bathrooms , maintaining daily maintenance sheet, and stocking coolers.

V. Responsible for paperwork

End of shift paperwork, end of shift cigarette counts, end of shift video and cassette counts, and other paperwork pertaining to the job.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Report to and work with Store Manager and assistants.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Some High School
• Good communication skills, people oriented focus.
• Must be able to speak English well.
• Good basic math skills, able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to stand for approximately eight hours and lift up to forty lbs. The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
