What will I be doing?

A F&B Runner with Hilton Hotels & Resorts is responsible for delivering food and/or beverage items in a friendly, courteous and timely manner resulting in guest satisfaction. Specifically, you would be responsible for the following:

• Prepares and collects items for multiple orders according to prescribed standards and in anticipation of incoming orders including retrieving condiments, paper supplies, etc.
• Carries bags up to 30 lbs. and/or utilizes electric carts to deliver orders to guests in a friendly and courteous manner to ensure guest satisfaction. Presents tallied check to guest.
• Prepares amenities and delivers to guest rooms.
• Retrieves check from Counter Attendant and places in check folder for guest. When picking up food, visually inspect order to ensure completeness, i.e., all food, beverages, alcoholic beverages, and all condiments, paper products.
• Cleans and restocks storage areas, rotates and maintains appropriate inventory levels of necessary items. Returns condiments and other equipment to proper storage areas.

What are we looking for?

EDUCATION
Any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. High school education preferred.

EXPERIENCE
No prior experience required. Prior delivering experience preferred.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES
Ability to obtain Tuberculosis Clearance Certificate. Ability to obtain Hawaii Liquor Commission yellow card. CPR certification and/or First Aid training preferred.

GROOMING
All team members must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available).

OTHER
Ability to speak another language in addition to English is preferred, with Japanese being the most desirable.

Only applicants who are currently residing in the state of Hawaii will be considered; no relocation assistance or sponsorship is available.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, Hilton quality assurance standards, guest relations and etiquette.
• Knowledge of the appropriate table settings, service ware and menu items.
• Ability to read, speak and write the English language in order to communicate with guests.
• Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry or otherwise transport up to 30 lbs. on a continuous basis.
• Ability to move or push goods on a hand cart/truck weighing a maximum of 200 lbs.
• Ability to operate beverage and toast equipment.
• Sponsorship and relocation assistance are not available for this position. Only local candidates will be considered.
