Buyer/Purchasing Agent
Automation Personnel is seeking a Purchaser/Buyer for local manufacturing company of portable oil and gas equipment, to negotiate and purchase raw materials.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Research, identify, evaluate, and select sources of supplies to ensure company s requirements for materials, equipment and services are fulfilled with the best quality, cost, service, and delivery.
2. Work with Engineering, Sales, Production, and Warehouse personnel to procure materials for specific projects or sales orders.
3. Perform sourcing for new materials as required.
4. Negotiate terms and lead times when needed.
5. Communicate payment terms to Accounting and lead times to Production and Sales.
6. Perform routine follow up on open orders and provide delivery status/update to Production and Sales.
7. Track all purchases from planning, purchasing, to receiving.
8. Work with Warehouse and Accounting personnel when necessary on discrepancies of quantity, quality, or pricing with vendors.
9. Maintain professional relationships with suppliers and internal customers.
10. Other tasks as required by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Working knowledge of QuickBooks, MS Office.
2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
3. Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
4. Extremely detail oriented.
5. Successful negotiating skill.
Salary
$15 - $22/hour Based on Experience
Education
H.S. Diploma required. BA/BS degree or equivalent in Business, SCM, Engineering, or related discipline preferred.
Experience
2+ years in Oil and Gas Industry in Supply Chain Management, or 5+ years in procurement in a manufacturing environment.
