Purpose for the Position:

To serve meals to patrons according to established rules of etiquette.

Essential Responsibilities Hostess:

  • Greets guests at front door of Boulder Grill
  • Shows guest to table based on flow and seating of prior guest.
  • Offers guest coffee upon seating.
  • Communicates to server that new guests are in their section of dining room.
  • Thanks Guest upon completion of meal.
  • Offers any assistance a guest may need.
  • Completes side work as deemed necessary by management.
  • Reports to work for scheduled shift, on time and in uniform in accordance with company policy.
  • Knows and complies with all company policies and procedures pertaining to this position and its duties.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Essential Responsibilities Server:

  • Takes the initiative to greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.
  • Serves ice water, juice, and/or coffee upon greeting the table.
  • Presents menu/breakfast buffet to guest with stated price.
  • Answers questions regarding food preparation.
  • Writes order on check or memorizes it.
  • Relays order to kitchen and serves courses from kitchen if necessary.
  • Garnishes and decorates dishes preparatory to serving.
  • Observes diners to fulfill any additional request and to perceive when meal has been completed.
  • Cleans tables and resets them for next guest.
  • Completes restaurant side work as deemed necessary by management after guests have left their section of dining room.
  • Replenishes supplies and prepares for the next meal.
  • Takes room service calls and fulfills those orders with a timely delivery.
  • Reports to work for scheduled shift, on time and in uniform in accordance with company policy.
  • Knows and complies with all company policies and procedures pertaining to this position and its duties.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Works as a team with other dining room staff.
  • Attentive to guests needs
  • Responds to guest complaints in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Assists in stocking breakfast bar as time allows.
  • Totals bill and accepts payment or refers patron to cashier.
  • Utilizes computer terminal appropriately to close guest checks.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Use arithmetic to total costs and make change.
  • Talk with different kinds of people to find out what services they want and to give them information.
  • Stand or walk for varying lengths of time, sometimes for long periods.
  • Move fingers and hands easily and quickly to handle things like dishes, money and merchandise.
  • Lift and carry things like heavy trays.
  • Perform routine work or the same task over and over again.

Physical Demands:

Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time), and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently (Frequently: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 to 2/3 of the time), and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists up to 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects. Environmental Conditions:

Inside: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. A job is considered “inside” if the worker spends approximately 75 percent or more of the time inside.
