Job Description:
- This person will be responsible for learning the equipment for troubleshooting, and overseeing the 2nd shift
- Will oversee 4-5 hourly line employees.
- Must be able to cover other shifts when other mechanics are on vacation or sick
- Will also change out dies 1x every 3 months or as needed. (No experinece is needed for this)
- They have packaging machines, conveyors, metal stamping presses
- Responsible for safety, quality of product, and keeping the line running
- They are running two lines the candidates will be responsible for both during their shift
- Average 40hrs a week
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing environment.
- It's a pretty automated facility, they don't have any 480v, mostly 120v and some 240v motors.
- They will be taught electrical here. So electrical experience is necessary
Qualifications:
- This isn't our typical maintenance technician
- They are open to candidates who have little to no industrial experience.
- Mechanical ability is the number one thing, they will train electrically. They want someone who is trainable and willing to learn
- Very clean environment
Performance Expectations:
- Safety is first, quality of product is 2nd, keeping the line running is 3rd performance expectation.
- Performance will be measured by repairing of machines, minimizing downtime and supervising of employees
- Their are performance reveiws every 30 days, 90 days, and annually
Interview Information:
1 interview with HR, Maint. manager, Plant manager
Typical interview questions:
1. How well do you get along with other people?
2. Are you mechanically inclined? What type of projects have you done?
3. What type of equipment are you famaliar with?
4. Are you willing to learn electrical?
Additional Compensation:
Hourly plus 1.5x overtime.
- There is a 30 cents shift differential on 2nd shift and 3rd shift.
Additional Information:

- Holiday pay is avaiable, vacation after 90 days.
- They use allen bradley PLC's, candidate does not need experience troubleshooting PLC's prior to this job.
- It's a 2nd shift from 3p to 11p Monday - Friday, but need to be open to covering other shifts. Will average 40 hours per week.
