Job Summary :

The person hired for the position of Quality Assurance Software Engineer will be part of the Clinical Research development team to test methodologies and logic based components to be embedded in the end-user software. This testing focus will include data analytics and comparison of expected results with actual results covering complex logic paths.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

- Responsible for all aspects of QA test planning and test execution activities.

- Participation in planning sessions to identify sequence and approach to sprint development

- Participation in design sessions to influence design, based on testing needs

- Participation in development - Test Driven Development

- Responsible for creation of test cases to certify that the specifications are satisfied

- Responsible for execution of test cases (both manual and automated), reporting defects, development of test cases/test data to certify defect fixes, and contribution to the Demo/Retrospective reviews

- Responsible for design/development of automated applications, scripts, running automated scripts and analyzing results

- Must be able to accept specifications from a variety of sources and formats including legacy code, i/o samples, and non-technical personnel

Basic Qualifications:

- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university

- Minimum three (3)+ years' experience with software quality assurance or software development experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelors and/or Master's degree in computer science or information systems management or related field

Experience with creating software quality test plans and testing networked applications

Experience with programming languages (i.e. C#, Java)

Experience with healthcare related data (claims and billing, healthcare informatics, inpatient and outpatient data) and HIPAA requirements

Experience with Web development

One (1) year experience with automation tools

One (1) year experience working on an "Agile" team using scrum

One (1) year experience with Microsoft Visual Studio and Team Foundation Server within an Agile development environment

Demonstrated technical skills with sound oral and written technical communications

Able to communicate effectively to non-technical audience both verbally and written

Ability to meet project plan timelines and produce a high quality product

Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Ability to take individual initiative and responsibility for assignments

Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities

Ability to quickly learn and apply new tools and technology

Ability to effectively communicate ideas and information to other team members

Demonstrate ability to improve on these skills through career development activities

Location: Wallingford, CT

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic
